Where Have I Been?

As much as I love this little blog, "Three Water Babies", if I am honest I have been struggling with posts and things to write about.  So I decided to make a list of all the topics or items I wanted to write about , and it turns out almost all of them are in the field of beauty products.  I absolutely love to test products and then write reviews on them from my perspective.

With that said I have decided to create a whole new blog specifically dedicated to that.  It will be ready to view by the end of June 2013...but for now you can find me and some of my reviews, tips and tricks on makeup at my Facebook page called Beauty With Robin. You can also find me on Instagram under the name "ThreeWaterBabies"

Here is a sneak peek of the new blog :)  See you soon!!

Top 5 Plants To Have in Your House!

Do you have Plants in your house?  I mean real plants that you have to water?

Trust me I know it can be SO hard...but if you can find it in your week to water them and keep them alive, the benefits are totally worth it, not just for you but for your entire family!

On our "Family Calendar" that is on the wall in our kitchen you will find in every week a specific day that I designate as my "Water Plants Today" day of the week.  And trust me I have had to move it a few times when I just did not get around to that chore for that specific day.

But when I do, I have to say "I love It".  Here is the collection in my home so far.

That is 8 Real Plants so far!  I used to have 2 more, but I never said I had a Green Thumb :)
Oh, and don't be fooled, I still have a few fake ones sitting around too :)
This picture above is all of my plants sitting in the backyard because today is "Water Plants" day.

To help you start collecting Real Plants in your home, let me give you some of the top benefits as well as the Top 5 Plants to buy!

TOP BENEFITS:

1) Convert Carbon Dioxide into Oxygen

2) Help to remove: trichloroethylene (used in inks and paint),
benzene (found in oils and paints), and formaldehyde (found in particle board, foam, insulation).

3) Help to trap other toxins and pollutants in the air.

4)Beautiful for decorating any space.

5)Very Cost effective on any budget.

**Plants make great gifts, especially for a baby shower :)

Top Effective Plants to Have in Your Home:

1)Spider Plant-(Natural Air Purifier and great for your kids rooms, just keep high or hang from the ceiling - Great Baby Shower Gift)
**Not poisonous.

2)Bamboo Plant-(great for your living rooms and tables)
**Can be toxic for pets if eaten.

3)Peace Lily - Beautiful and great for removing benzene and formaldehyde in rooms.
**Can be poisonous to Pets, so keep on table.

4)Golden Pathos - One of my Favorites, but needs water every week for sure. **They say they are poisonous if your pet eats it but my dog and cats have never tried.

5)Corn Stalk Dracaena - Beautiful plants, I have one in my above picture.  It is the first plant starting from the left. **There are over 40 plants in this family and some are poisonous and some are not.

If you are really concerned be sure to always check if a plant is poisonous either online, or by asking your local nursery.  I have never had a problem with my pets but if you are concerned you can ask the workers at any nursery you go to :) Also, If you would like a more in depth post on plants let me know :)

What I Wore Friday + My Great Deal at Old Navy

Yeahhh it's Friday!!!

All Fridays are the best right, but for me this friday is so exciting.  I am headed to a Woman's Conference with some of my dearest friends to see "Beth Moore".  One of the best Christian speakers around (in my opinion).  Since it is at the Long Beach Convention center I can probably guarantee they are going to be pumping the A.C., so I am going to bring my new RED Peacoat Jacket, I got at the old Navy 1 Day Sale last week for only $15.  Which is regularly $34.94.  I got a few more things too...I can't wait to show you!

Happy Friday !!!!

Official NFL Cheerleaders 1st Ever Alumni Event

Hi Friends, I wrote this post for our Charger Girls Alumni Blog to share with all of our girls and since the NFL has been such a GREAT part of my life, I thought I would share it with you too.  If you are new to my Blog if you read my AboutMe you would find out that I danced for the San Diego Chargers for 7 Ah-mazing years.  And as a Veteran or Alumni I was asked to attend an event for all NFL Alum's with me representing the Chargers and Charger Girls!  I hope you enjoy it!
As my bags are packed, my spirits are high and the babysitter (aka my mom) is set to watch all 3 babies. Thank you Mom!!
My husband and I are over joyed to be a part of the very first ever "Official NFL Cheerleaders Alumni" event taking place in Washington D.C. I will be representing the Alumni for the San Diego Chargers, Charger Girls.  How exciting is this!
When you become an Alumni of any group it's always fun to attend events and reconnect, but to be able to be apart of such an Elite group in the National Football League, and representing the "Hottest Dance Team in the NFL" in my opinion is not only an honor but a blessing. I was a Charger Girl for 7 years.  My Charger Girl years were 99,00,01,02,05,06,07
Now let me give you the idea behind this new NFL Cheerleaders Alumni Group and the layout for what the weekend looked like for July 27th & 28th 2012.  Hosting this years 1st ever event were the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, which explains why the event was being held in Washington D.C.  The reason the Redskins wanted to host this was because this year 2012, marks the 50th Anniversary for their Cheerleading Team.  And 50 years is definitely a number to be Celebrated!  The Hotel hosting the Resort was the Gaylord National Hotel and Resort along with the Marriott.  I have to say that the Gaylord was sold out completely so my husband and I did not get to stay there but directly cross the street was a Marriott that had space for us.  WOW, let me show you what this amazing hotel looks like!

Now take a look at the river that this amazing hotel over looks! (This picture was taken by myself as my husband and I are taking a river boat over to Old Town Alexandria Virginia to walk around and eat dinner).  Oh, and that small Red building to the left of the Gaylord Hotel is the Marriott Residence Inn Suites where we stayed.  So it was actually perfect that we could just walk across the street to the events even though they were not held at the Marriott.
Now that you know where we are staying let me show you what the Agenda looked like.

As Brad and I arrived thursday night, that gave us all of friday day to tour downtown Washington D.C. and see some of the amazing sights.  This is what made this trip extra special for us.  Some of you might know this but many of you may not.  My husband Brad worked at the White House for President Bush Jr. in 2002 in the Department of Justice.  When we got married we had always talked about a trip to D.C. that we would take one day where he could show me where he worked and what his life looked like back then.
Well three babies later we were still dreaming and just talking about it.  Until, this NFL Alumni Event opportunity came up.  So thank you, NFL Alumni Event.....we finally made this dream happen.

Friday night as you can read on the itinerary we had a Meet & Greet.  We did not make it to the Redskins Calendar Release Party before hand because it was sold out.  It was open to the public and no spots were left.  But that's ok, we got to meet some of the girls saturday :) The Meet and Greet was great, and so fun getting to meet so many other ladies from the other teams who are now Alumni's of their NFL organizations.  I do have to say, all weekend so many people were so excited that a representative from San Diego flew all the way there to represent the
Charger Girls!

Saturday!!! Yeah, it's finally here.  For any Football lover, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.  Today we got to go visit and tour the Redskins Stadium, "FedexField".  I can not tell you how excited I was to get to do this, and to be able to share it with my husband!  As an NFL cheerleader there are parts of the Stadium that you get access to, for example the Locker Rooms and Tunnels.  These are spots that are so special to BIG SUNDAY Game Day that the public never gets to see or experience like we do.  Sharing this now with my husband and seeing him excited and asking questions like "Does it look like this at Qualcomm, and "Do we have a dance studio in our stadium for the girls like they do?"  made my year.   It was even fun to laugh and say NO, all the stadiums are different. :) Here are some fun pics from inside their stadium.

In the picture above (left) of the field, the Big Screen says
"The Redskins Welcome the Washington Redskin Cheerleaders & Alumni Association To Fedex Field"

In the 3 pictures above from left to right.  1st I am in the dance room in the stadium where the Cheerleaders get to practice on Game Day. This dance room is amazing...NO the Charger Girls do not have this.  We practice out on the field before each home game.  The middle picture is my husband and myself in the Players Locker Room sitting in their Game Day cubbies.  Last to the right is a big mural that is on an entire wall inside the stadium.

Above are pictures with some of the Redskins Cheerleaders!

What a great experience right, now I thought I would show you the group picture with all of the Alumni's that attended from teams across the NFL.

This experience was so wonderful but we still had a few more things to see.  Sadly we did leave the Stadium but now the Limo Bus we were on was going to drive around downtown D.C. for a little sight seeing.  Which worked out great because there were a few spots we did not get to see from our sight seeing the day before.  Here is a picture of all the Alumni's in front of the Capitol.

This was our last stop on the tour before we headed back.  As you can see on our itinerary we have a big night ahead of us.  So as the bus dropped all of us off at the hotel we had a little bit of down time to get ready for tonight.

The NFL Alumni Event is finally here.  We are celebrating the Washington Redskins 50th Anniversary as well as the NFL's 1st ever Cheerleaders Alumni Event. As we got to the banquet room each NFL Alumni got a large bag full of goodies and stuff for us from sponsors and the Redskins Organization.
The evening was wonderful, there was a dance performance from the Redskins Cheerleaders new team, guest speaker the Governor Bob McDonnell along with a slide show and music.  Oh, the food was pretty good too.  They even introduced us team by team and had us come up to show all the Alumni's at this event.  For this dinner event I was accompanied by one other former Charger Girl Alumni, Natalie Voight.

I have to say it again, the girls were so excited that representatives from San Diego flew all that way to be a part of this event.  It was such a wonderful weekend, dinner and event but even more special that I got to share it with my husband!  If you have never been in the NFL and you are reading this then I should say that in the NFL there are a lot of great opportunities you get to experience but most (not all) of them do not allow for you to bring a guest.  That is why I keep expressing how cool it was to be allowed to bring my better half with me to this.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my story and if you are an Alumni Cheerleader the next event is being set for 2 years from now.  From what we were told at the dinner, the next NFL Cheerleaders Alumni event will be in 2014 and held by the Atlanta Falcons. Also, if you would like to stay in touch with me and follow what my family and I are up to you can find me on my blog Three Water babies.
